I am so, so honored to have been entrusted to be a part of and capture such a special day. My brother, Evan, and his fiance Dani delegated me not only best (wo)man but also photographer at their wedding. I love these two with so much of my heart- I truly could not have picked a better pair- and am still reeling over their perfect day.
When we woke up at our beach house in Michigan on Saturday morning, we were all relieved to see sun! The weather had cleared, and warmed considerably, and we were all excited to get this wedding underway!
I headed over to Dani's grandparent's house (where the ceremony was held) and snapped a few pictures as Dani prepped and her girls popped some champagne,
Back upstairs, Dani put the finishing touches on her hair.
And all the ladies approved.
Then it was time to get in her gorgeous, sequined dress!
After her (Evan-requested) lipstick was on, we took a few glamour shots.
Meanwhile, my second shooter (shout out to Papa Harl!) was with the groom as he headed down to the beach.
Upstairs, Dani grabbed her bouquet and we were all ready to follow.
The girls paused for a quick photo with their dad just before we headed down the beach.
I (awkwardly) led the way, my camera locked and loaded at my hip. :)
Dani's sister and maid of honor, Bridget, was next.
Once he saw Dani, I don't think Evan took his eyes off her.
The waves were high and loud, so everyone moved in close as Thor, their coworker, began the ceremony.
When Bridget read an E.E. Cummings poem, everyone got teary-eyed
They exchanged rings...
and they were "husband and wife."
After the quick ceremony, everyone gathered in for a champagne toast.
Everyone headed for the reception at Journeyman Distillery, but Evan and Dani hung back for a few minutes so we could take some pictures on the beach.
And then we were off to the party!
By the time we arrived, guests were just starting to roll in.
And everything looked beautiful!
They were so excited to make it official, they signed their marriage license right then and there,
While everyone was seated for dinner, I sneaked into the dessert stash. I just couldn't help myself! I mean, c'mon! Donuts from Dinkel's?!!?
After dinner they shared their first dance as "husband and wife."
And Dani danced with her dad.
Then it was party time!
They also had the patio and backyard open for people to cool off.
Then these two weirdos danced with a broom- don't worry, it's tradition!
And no night is complete without a little "love tap" from friend. :)
Congratulations, Evan & Dani!
